There Is a New Place

There is a new place

Where the air is clean

And the sunlight dew

Sparkles on your skin

The boughs bend for you

Maidens draped in green

Drop leaves for your steps

Her carpet unfurled

O’er chestnuts you walk

Frost nipping your nose

The last shades of green

Fore winter’s repose

But walk on you will

No matter the snow

Your Jerusalem

One step passed the sun

Until then this land

Of maids and magic

Crimsoned moonlit dream

Your soul flushed with life

Quieted beauty

So regal and still

Your trail all your own

With God at your side

So walk on pilgrim

And love everything

Search out what is new

Just round the sunlight

And keep what is old

Your timeless keepsake

Deep in your backpack

Your food for the night

And if you happen

A stranger you find

Call him your brother

And walk in his time

Let him walk in yours

Your sandals for his

A new place is born

Your soul from a kiss
