Love Me Later

Love me later

Even when the rose wilts

You know the one:

Pink icing on a cake

Sweetie flower

Boutonniere on the make

Just for the hour

Yes, that is who I am

Pink petaled man

Color dab in your vase

Weed with a face

So will you try?

Splash your Chanel on me

Dim the sunlight

Turn up a Sinatra

Uncork old wine

Most of all close your eyes

And I’ll be new

Lovably in fashion

Pink whiskered dew

This is forever love

Always the dawn

If you’ll just hum the song

Dream a little

Pretend for what you long

If you do that

I’ll remain your pink rose

Handsome charmer

Your spring fling in repose
