She is jealous of your many loves, and crashes onto the rocks as an expression of her passionate discontent. To the extent that she is a mother, she worries for you as someone who is near but tempted by other pursuits. She holds you in her bosom, and rocks you gently as an expression of her eternal tranquility. She invites us to be paramours and children and thereby to experience the fullness of love from heart tempered to gentle in the tidal ebbs and flows.
