Be Still and Silent

This is your morning

Give yourself a little joy

Be still and silent.

Let the wind whisper

Soft palette for a bird song

Be still and silent.

Lie naked on grass

Dew dances in the morning

Be still and silent.

Look up at the sky

Nothing to do way up there

Be still and silent.

Smell the lavender

Do not describe it with words

Be still and silent.

Taste the cool sunburst

Do not keep what is not yours

Be still and silent.

Let the spirit come

She will dance for you today

Be still and silent.

Let the spirit go

She will come back tomorrow

Be still and silent.

Maybe fall asleep

Do not notice if awake

Be still and silent.

Maybe stay awake

Do not notice if asleep

Be still and silent.

This is your morning

And this is what joy is like

Be still and silent.
